Work Starts on Detached New Homes in Goostrey

Hillcrest Homes has commenced work on the creation of four new homes in Goostrey that will have the character and material palette of contemporary style barn conversions. One of the properties has already been sold off-plan.

The four new homes, known collectively as ‘The Granary Yard’, are being crafted on the site of a former corrugated iron clad grain store and are set back from Bridge Lane with views across the fields in the direction of Jodrell Bank.

The design for the homes has been inspired by the traditional farm buildings found in the local area and will be crafted from soft red brick with oak detailing and mid-grey slate roofs to help them blend into their rural surroundings.

Two different styles of home are being provided offering up to 2,508 sq ft of living accommodation across two floors and an exemplary standard of specification, including SieMatic kitchens and bathrooms by Duravit. Two of the properties will also include a delightful car barn crafted using complementary materials and providing first floor accommodation suitable for a home office or playroom.

Whilst traditional in form, each of the new homes will be built using contemporary methods of construction and will incorporate proven methods of renewable technology, including underfloor heating powered by an air source heat pump.

To make the most of the rural location and mature plot, the properties will benefit from large expanses of energy efficient glazing, creating a union between the inside and outside space.

Says Stewart Chance, Hillcrest Sales & Marketing Manager, “This is a very special location so we were keen to do it justice. The properties are similar in style to barn conversions with a lovely mix of characterful red brick and oiled oak but they have all the benefits of a modern energy efficient home.

“The interiors are designed to be open plan and offer ample opportunities for the new owners to fully enjoy their rural environment. We’ve even included a boot room where you can kick off your muddy boots after a walk,” he suggested.

Hillcrest Homes has just completed work on new homes at Norbury’s Yard off King Street in Knutsford and will be partnering once again with local estate agent Stuart Rushton & Co to market The Granary Yard.

Says owner, Stuart Rushton, “The Granary Yard will fulfill the hopes and ambitions of anyone who has ever dreamt of bringing up their family in the countryside, but also wants to live in a cutting edge contemporary new house – a rare combination indeed!

“The site is surrounded by fields with lovely views and there are plenty of country walks to enjoy in all seasons. Goostrey is a pretty village with good essential amenities and a really strong sense of community. It has a mainline railway station to Manchester and the towns of Alderley Edge, Knutsford and Wilmslow are just a short drive away, as is the hugely popular village of Over Peover. It’s perfect,” he added.
