Hillcrest Homes has commenced the construction of thirty new luxury homes on Whalley Road in Hurst Green, near Whalley.
Hillcrest has partnered with Stonyhurst College and The Housing Growth Partnership to deliver a beautifully designed scheme in this highly desirable Ribble Valley location. Its the company’s first development in this fantastic location and follows the opening of a new office at Ribchester last year.
Hillcrest’s appointed contractors, Skelmersdale based CPUK, have started on site with representatives from both businesses gathering together to celebrate ‘breaking the ground’.
Known as ‘The Warren’, the new development will offer a wide range of homes including two bedroom bungalows, two bedroom semi-detached homes, two and three bedroom terraced homes and four and five bedroom luxury family homes.
The Warren sits on a 5.7-acre south-facing hillside, taking advantage of the outstanding panoramic views. The houses will overlook a new ‘village green’ where a stunning 200-year-old Ash tree takes pride of place.
Hillcrest is renown amongst its Cheshire and South Manchester heartland for exclusive, well-crafted homes of the highest quality. Hillcrest takes a bespoke approach to the design of every home and The Warren is no different, with each house individually crafted.
Says Hillcrest Director, James Payne, “It’s an absolute privilege to build in this fantastic location. We’re very aware of the importance our development will have on the character of Hurst Green and have been committed right from the very start to delivering a high quality scheme that contributes to it’s charm and of which the local community can be proud.
“We do not adopt standard house types, but prefer to design our homes from scratch to ensure they respond to their unique location. For The Warren, we wanted to create a feeling of maturity and permanence, and for the development to look like it had grown organically over time. To help achieve this, we’ve taken inspiration from some of the most attractive features found in local architecture, added luscious landscaped areas with mature planting and will build the properties in natural stone and render with slate roofs,” he added.
Contractors CPUK will be on site at Hurst Green for 82 weeks with the homes due for completion next Summer. Site Manager, Chris Haworth, is looking forward to getting stuck into the build. He says, “It’s a delight to work in such a beautiful location. The views from the site towards Pendle Hill are breathtaking. Local residents and businesses have been very welcoming and we’re looking forward to meeting some of the staff and pupils from St Josephs RC Primary School next door for whom we’ll be building a new football pitch as part of the works.”
The land for the development was purchased from Stonyhurst College, a boarding and day Catholic School for pupils aged three to 18 years which is based in the village. Says Bursar, Simon Marsden, “ We are delighted that, after a period of delicate and carefully tread consultations with Hillcrest Homes and St Joseph’s Primary School, all parties, including the village of Hurst Green shall receive a significant investment in the future buoyancy of the community.”
The development is being delivered by Hillcrest Homes with assistance from The Housing Growth Partnership. Says CEO and Head of Fund, Andy Hulme, “The Housing Growth Partnership is delighted to be supporting Hillcrest Homes to deliver 30 high quality family homes in Hurst Green. Hillcrest has a longstanding housebuilding heritage and is a brand that is synonymous with delivering high quality, thoughtfully designed homes that meet the lifestyles of modern homebuyers. We are looking forwards to working with the Hillcrest team as the development unfolds.”
Hurst Green residents and other interested parties are invited to attend an Information Day where they can register an expression of interest, view plans and artist’s impressions of the different house designs as well as meet the Hillcrest and CPUK teams. The Information Day will be held at the Shireburn Arms in Hurst Green from 10am until 4pm on Sunday 20th May.
Hillcrest Sales Manager, Simone Milner, says “The Information Day will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in The Warren to get a thorough understanding of what the final development will look like, with artist’s impressions and an animated fly-thru of the scheme all on display.
“We want to chat to people about the extensive specification provided in each home. We’re working with the new Stuart Frazer showroom in Read to provide fantastic kitchens by SieMatic and with leading designers to create luxurious bathrooms and en suites,” she said.
Homes at The Warren will be released for sale in the Autumn.
