Old Braestead, Prestbury

Our Work

Old Braestead, Prestbury

Old Braestead is situated in a picturesque and peaceful one-acre plot in desirable Prestbury in Cheshire. The gently sloping site provided views over the Cheshire countryside and was bordered by mature trees and shrubs whilst neighbouring older, prestigious properties of architectural merit.

The location was special and Hillcrest was keen to respond with an elegant residence that could sit well within it’s mature landscape.  Working with revivalist architects, Fallows Gowan, Hillcrest created an ‘arts and crafts’ style residence – the first new build version of it’s kind in the Prestbury area at the time and a design that has been copied extensively ever since.

The property provided spacious six-bedroom accommodation and had a long and luxurious specification. The one acre grounds were landscaped and a characterful summerhouse was restored to help bond the new property to its surroundings.

Old Braestead was well received by local purchasers and sold off-plan at an early stage of construction.
